BI PRIVATE CLIENT RESERVES - an update
The cost of storing wine has increased over the last 12 months, with both of the UK's leading wine storage facilities (LCB/Vinotheque and Octavian) raising their storage charges for their private and trade clients. This in turn has led some wine merchants to increase their storage charges to clients storing through them, which most recently affected one of our major competitors having to announce an increase to their storage charges from the 1st October 2008 to GBP 8.50 per case (or part case) per year (or part year).
We would like to assure you all that Bordeaux Index is happy to advise our storage charges will remain at GBP 7.50 (ex VAT) per 12 bottle case (or equivalent) per year and GBP 3.75 (ex VAT) per 6 bottle case (or equivalent) through to at least June 2009. With this, wines are insured to their full replacement value and you will receive the highest levels of customer service - the sort that has earned us yet another short-listing at this years IWC awards for Bordeaux Specialist - Merchant of the Year and En Primeur Specialist - Merchant of the Year. We are also one of the few merchants that allows customers to store wines purchased from other companies, with us, at no additional costs.
We would also like to take this opportunity to introduce a new member of the BI team; Lewis Byrne who has been in the wine trade for a number of years. Lewis will be assuming the role of Private Reserves Manager from Guy Ruston, who will be making the move into Private Sales for our US based customers. Guy has done a tremendous job over the past year and a half providing excellent service for all of our reservist customers - not to mention the staff here at BI! A massive thank you and good luck should be extended his way.
Lewis will be picking up where Guy has left off in launching our long awaited 'Reserves Online' service (details of which will be announced in a few weeks time). He will also be continuing to improve and develop this rapidly growing part of our business and invaluable service to our customers. His contact details are below.
