What makes BI Operations World Class?

Life moves pretty fast.  If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.  ‘Ferris Bueller’

As head of operations one thing that never ceases to amaze me is the sheer volume of stock we have in storage.  We have enough stock in reserve for you to open a bottle of Live Trade wine every Saturday and Sunday for the next…… 5,000 years. We also have wines dating back to when George Washington and William Pitt the Younger where thrashing out trade deals.

The Colerne Reserve is our state of the art wine storage facility operated on our behalf by Octavian. The warehouse allows for increased client reserves and also signals commitment to innovation and providing the best possible services to our customers. I believe we have the best storage facility in the country with the staff to match. This along with everything else we offer our reserve customers (Live valuations, BIX, Live Trade) means your wines are in the best possible place.

As tens of thousands of bottles come through our doors every month organisation and safety are key. Jancis Robinson described our storage facility explaining “drivers are allowed on the premises only if they are on that day’s rota; every case is checked and photographed on arrival and despatch; every truck is carefully inspected.” In other words, everything is done to ensure the highest level of security.

Jancis noted ‘very few wine collectors today have sufficient storage space that is suitably cool and dark to accommodate a personal cellar.’ Taking the burden of safe storage away will not only ensure your wine tastes the best but can allow you to get the best value out of it through broking. It’s a very simple process to move your wines to the best storage facility and team.
